Working Mother magazine today named Allstate as one of the 2015 Working Mother 100 Best Companies for its commitment to implement workplace programs and policies that enable working moms to be the best parent and best employee they can be.

Allstate programs that support working mothers to be their best at home and at work include:

  • Access to preventive health and wellbeing resources such as mothers’ rooms, onsite clinics, pharmacy and resource center.
  • Onsite day care and national child care discounts.
  • Energy management workshops and wellbeing coaching.
  • Flexible work arrangementssuch as compressed work weeks, job-sharing, flextime, and telecommuting.

“Allstate is proud to be recognized as one of the 100 Best Companies for our employee programs and work culture that help working mothers thrive and perform at their highest levels,” said Michael Escobar, vice president, chief diversity & organization effectiveness officer for Allstate. “Maintaining a workplace that supports working moms and all employee groups helps us apply our diverse perspectives to better serve our customers’ needs.”

The 100 Best Companies are featured in the October/November issue of Working Mother and on workingmother.com.

Subha Barry, vice president and general manager of Working Mother Media, says, “As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of Working Mother’s 100 Best Companies, we are keen to recognize leaders who have built initiatives that truly support all employees. They are the vanguard of successful companies, with policies that matter to American families.”

Jennifer Owens, editorial director of Working Mother Media, says, “Thirty years is an important milestone and we are happy to honor it. But we know, too, that the road ahead to truly supportive workplaces for all employees remains long. Today, more than 2 million people work at a Best Company but that’s a drop in the bucket when you consider that our nation is home to 24 million working mothers—70 percent of moms with kids under age 18 are employed.”
